The Opportunity Alliance Resource Group has partnered with a high‑growth, category‑leading CPG company headquartered in West LA to identify an experienced Interim Senior Manager / Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This is an immediate consulting opportunity for a seasoned FP&A professional who can step into a highly visible role, quickly understand the business, and provide both hands‑on financial leadership and strategic support during a period of transition and continued growth.
The company is seeking someone who can hit the ground running. This individual will take ownership of key FP&A activities, partner closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams, and ensure continuity across the company's forecasting, reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis. While initially structured as a contract/interim assignment, there may be an opportunity to convert to a permanent leadership position for the right individual.
- Immediately assume ownership of key FP&A, forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting activities.
- Maintain and enhance the company's financial models, forecasts, and planning processes.
- Provide senior leadership with timely analysis of financial performance, business trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Lead monthly reporting and budget‑to‑actual and forecast variance analysis.
- Develop and maintain short‑and long‑term forecasts across revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, headcount, and other key business drivers.
- Partner closely with Accounting to understand monthly results and ensure accurate management reporting.
- Work directly with leaders across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and other functions to understand performance and support decision‑making.
- Analyze business performance across products, customers, channels, and key operating initiatives.
- Support scenario modeling and financial analysis related to growth initiatives, investments, product launches, and other strategic decisions.
- Maintain and enhance KPI reporting and executive‑level financial presentations.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operating leverage, forecasting accuracy, and financial visibility.
- Help ensure a smooth transition and continuity of the FP&A function while the company evaluates its longer‑term finance leadership needs.
- Approximately 10–15+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant FP&A responsibility.
- Prior experience at the Senior Manager, Director, or equivalent level.
- Strong preference for experience within skincare, consumer products, retail, e‑commerce, or another fast‑growing consumer brand.
- Exceptional financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical capabilities.
- Strong command of the P&L with an ability to quickly identify and understand the operational drivers behind financial results.
- Demonstrated ability to step into an organization and get up to speed quickly with limited hand‑holding.
- Comfortable operating as both a strategic finance partner and a hands‑on individual contributor.
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial planning, ERP, and business intelligence tools.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial and evolving environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
The Ideal Interim Leader The successful candidate will be someone who can walk into a dynamic organization, quickly assess the existing FP&A environment, and take ownership. This role requires an individual who is highly analytical, resourceful, low‑ego, and comfortable working in the details while also having the experience and judgment to advise senior leadership. Prior interim, consulting, or transformation experience is helpful but not required.
