Genesis Bank is a California commercial bank organized by a group of highly experienced, successful bankers and business professionals. Building on their proven track record of leadership and achievement, including previously guiding Opus Bank through significant growth and strategic milestones, the executive team brings deep expertise and a history of delivering exceptional results.

We focus on serving the banking needs of small to mid-sized businesses, the owners of such businesses, business professionals, and owners and investors of income-producing properties (including multi-family and commercial real estate), located primarily in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. Our products, services, and solutions include traditional commercial & industrial (C&I), Small Business Administration (SBA), income property, and owner-occupied commercial real estate lending, along with a full suite of deposit products and treasury management services & solutions.

We also provide fiduciary and specialty banking services (property management, HOA, escrow, title, professional services) and act as section 1031 exchange Qualified Intermediary to serve the banking and real estate needs of our clients.

The Universal Banker is responsible for providing client assistance, new account services, and a variety of regular and recurring operational functions. Promotes business by offering clients and prospects appropriate products and services and assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations

• Maintains teller drawer and will conduct client transactions as needed.
• Open new accounts for businesses and consumers by ensuring proper documentation and identification; maintain existing accounts of all types and closes accounts as needed.
• Provides excellent client service, including answering inquiries, recommending solutions to resolve client issues, etc.
• Maintains client files to scan supporting documents to core system.
• Maintains strong client relationships through regular contact, including proactive outreach.
• Provides client follow up as needed.
• Works collaboratively and effectively with all departments to ensure appropriate client solutions with the bank’s policy and procedural guidelines.
• Assists with other operational tasks as assigned.
• Identifies opportunities to cross-sell bank products and services and generate referrals to internal.
• Reviews and verifies daily reports assigned.

• High school diploma, Associate or Undergraduate college degree or equivalent banking experience, with emphasis on retail and/or business banking
• 1-2 years of general banking experience, with an emphasis on branch sales and operations.
• Comprehensive understanding of branch banking activities, products, and services.
• Comprehensive understanding of general banking compliance regulations and laws.
• Knowledge of banking specific internal controls required under FDIC Improvement Act (FDICIA) and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).
• Ability to routinely participate in Bank required training (hosted or self-directed), and pass with satisfactory scores, tests or assessments associated with such training.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Fiserv, Integrated Teller, and BPM.
• Ability to interact with all levels of management and team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
