About the OpportunityRobert Half Legal is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Legal Assistant to serve as a central administrative and workflow lead for a dynamic, collaborative, 8-person in-house legal department (5 attorneys, 3 paralegals). This is a temp-to-hire role with a strong potential for long-term, full-time employment. Starting pay is competitive and, upon conversion, compensation ranges from $105,000 to $120,000/year, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and coordinate day-to-day operations of the legal department.
- Manage department-wide legal calendar (transactions, litigation, regulatory filings, board meetings, contract renewals).
- Maintain centralized matter tracking and coordinate with outside counsel on scheduling, filings, invoices, and matter budgets.
- Supervise document management in iManage and enforce file naming/organization protocols.
- Manage full contract lifecycle: intake, routing, approvals, execution, archiving.
- Coordinate internal and external signings, including high-volume closings.
- Maintain corporate records, governance materials, entity documentation, and executed agreements.
- Serve as liaison between Legal and other internal business units (Acquisitions, Finance, HR, Operations, Risk & Insurance).
- Oversee scheduling, correspondence, invoice processing, and department reporting.
- Handle confidential corporate, financial, transactional, and litigation matters with utmost discretion.
- 5+ years as a Legal Assistant in a premier law firm or sophisticated in-house legal department.
- Direct experience supporting General Counsel, CLO, or other senior legal leadership.
- Strong knowledge of transactional/litigation tracking, corporate governance, and contract administration.
- Advanced experience with iManage or similar document management systems.
- Proficient with CLM platforms and e-signature tools (e.g., Docu Sign, Adobe Sign).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially document formatting/comparison in Word.
