Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant

The Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care Team. Our Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants practice incorporates both independent decision-making abilities and collaboration with our Physicians to provide expert care to the patients. This role has the ability to provide care to a special patient population and those with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs a physical examination based on age and history and dictates a progress note if needed with the appropriate physicians.
• Performs and/or orders preventive and diagnostic procedures based on the patient's age and history.
• Identifies health and medical risk factors.
• Provides and documents patient, family and significant other education and outcomes, including smoking cessation, pneumococcal vaccination and other patient specific subjects, utilizing effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates and assesses patient/family readiness to learn; individualized learning ability; provides age specific education; initiates and reinforces as needed.
• Performs outpatient procedures as needed

License/Certification requirements:

• CA NP or PA license required
• Board certification
• Drug Enforcement Administration certificate required.
• Basic Life Support certification

Experience:

• Minimum two (2) or more years of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience in Urgent Care or Primary Care
