Research Associate II, Per Diem – Cedars‑Sinai, Beverly Hills, CA. Working under direct supervision, the Research Associate II performs routine and increasingly complex laboratory tasks, develops technical expertise in areas relevant to research projects, and participates in all aspects of the research process from investigation to technical testing/validation and reporting findings.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of increasingly complex experimental protocols and procedures.
- Assist in designing new complex or unusual protocols and techniques.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of experiments and results and help identify and troubleshoot unexpected results.
- Order laboratory supplies and support laboratory operations.
- Maintain lab equipment and related records, and coordinate use of lab equipment as needed.
- Assist in the operation of specialized equipment, as required by the area of research.
- Assist in preparation of data for publication and/or presentation at scholarly meetings.
- Observe and comply with safety standards and procedures.
- Orient research laboratory assistants or lower‑level research associates and undergraduate student researchers on day‑to‑day lab operations and routine procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in a Science related field.
- Minimum one year of research laboratory experience.
- Master's or MPH in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related field.
- Strong interest in cancer and population health research, specifically breast cancer survivorship.
- Experience with study initiation, database management, and statistical analyses.
- Proficiency in programming using statistical software such as R, SAS, or Stata.
- Ability to present research results and contribute to manuscript preparation.
- Strong analytic skillset for conducting epidemiologic analyses.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and dynamic research environment.
- Commitment to improving the lives of cancer survivors through research.
