Summary

The Assistant Operations Manager supports store operational excellence and inventory integrity by overseeing back-of-house operations, shipment processing, inventory control, replenishment, expense management and after-sales activities. This client-facing leadership role partners with the Store Manager and retail leadership to align operational processes with sales objectives and the Maison's standards. The role leads the back-of-house team to ensure efficient merchandise logistics and optimal stock levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and coach the back-of-house team to ensure efficient execution of operational duties and merchandise logistics.
  • Track and report operations KPIs, including after-sales metrics, to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Oversee shipment processing, transfers, replenishment and movement of merchandise to the sales floor.
  • Perform cycle counts and regular audits; investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Manage reservations, consignments and reconciliation of after-sales inventory movements.
  • Coordinate alterations and repair orders, monitor vendor performance and turnaround times.
  • Support sales teams to maintain high standards of client service and sales support.
  • Drive process improvements, loss-prevention initiatives and adherence to company policies.
  • Monitor and support management of operational expenses related to shipping, supplies and after-sales costs.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a back-of-house or operations team.
  • Strong experience in inventory management, shipment processing, cycle counting and reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of after-sales operations, alterations and repair workflows.
  • Analytical skills to track KPIs and support inventory and expense control strategies.
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills and adherence to loss-prevention practices.
  • Excellent communication and client service orientation to collaborate with sales and store leadership.
