Position Profile

The Senior Manager, Business Development supports the Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau's (BHCVB) efforts to increase visitor-generated revenue and strengthen destination awareness among leisure and group travelers. Reporting to the Senior Director of Group Sales, this position assists in the execution of BHCVB's domestic group sales strategy while supporting select international leisure initiatives and travel trade partnerships.

The position works closely with hotel partners, meeting planners, travel trade professionals, and destination marketing organizations to generate qualified leads, increase hotel bookings, and enhance the Beverly Hills visitor experience. The ideal candidate possesses strong relationship-building skills, knowledge of the hospitality industry, and experience in destination marketing or hotel sales.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Execute domestic group sales initiatives to generate qualified leads and increase business for Beverly Hills hotels.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with meeting planners, travel advisors, tour operators, receptive operators, online travel agencies, and other travel trade partners.
  • Identify opportunities to convert business from competitive destinations to Beverly Hills.
  • Collaborate with hotel sales teams to identify opportunities, share leads, and support citywide sales efforts.
  • Assist with planning and execution of familiarization tours, site visits, sales missions, trade shows, and industry events.

Partnership Development

  • Manage relationships with key tourism organizations, including Visit California, Brand USA, Cal Travel, and other industry partners.
  • Support the CEO with international leisure initiatives and referrals received through destination marketing partners.
  • Coordinate with internal marketing staff to develop trade communications, newsletters, website content, and promotional materials.

Client Services

  • Provide destination information, itinerary recommendations, VIP amenities, and visitor assistance to ensure an exceptional Beverly Hills experience.
  • Respond promptly to sales inquiries and assist clients throughout the planning process.

CRM & Reporting

  • Maintain the Simpleview CRM database to ensure accurate contact information, lead management, sales reporting, and business tracking.
  • Monitor Cvent opportunities and distribute qualified leads to appropriate hotel partners.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports on travel trade activities, lead generation, booked business, and program performance.
  • Provide weekly activity updates and support organizational reporting for management, the Board of Directors, and City stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience in destination marketing, hotel sales, tourism, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of group sales, travel trade, and destination marketing preferred.
  • Experience using Simpleview, Cvent, or comparable CRM and lead management platforms.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM reporting systems.
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $85,000 – $105,000
    , depending on qualifications and experience.
