Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join a dynamic team in Beverly, Massachusetts. This position is within a non-profit organization and offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful financial operations. As a Contract to permanent role, it provides a path for long-term growth and career development.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.

- Maintain the general ledger and perform regular reviews to guarantee proper account reconciliations.

- Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial records and bank statements.

- Utilize the organization's general ledger system to manage and organize financial data efficiently.

- Collaborate with team members to support month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.

- Monitor and analyze financial transactions to identify discrepancies and propose solutions.

- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

- Provide support during audits by gathering and verifying required documentation.

- Contribute to process improvements within the accounting department to enhance efficiency.

Requirements - Proven experience in preparing and posting journal entries.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.

- Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes and best practices.

- Proficiency in using general ledger accounting systems.

- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.

- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

- Solid communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.

- Background in non-profit accounting is a plus, but not required.
