Greene Resources is seeking a Payroll Tax Associate to join a growing and dynamic team! The Payroll Tax Associate is responsible for state tax registrations, obtaining TPA and PTP authorization, and tax reporting regulatory requirements. This position will assist in ensuring payroll tax accounts are compliant, minimizing penalty assessments. This position also works with agencies, clients and the team to resolve agency notices.
Responsibilities- Register clients with state and local tax agencies.
- Work with agencies and clients to establish TPA and PTP authorization.
- Create and maintain process documents for registration and TPA, PTP authorization.
- Communicate payroll tax issues orally and in written form with team and clients as required.
- Filing tax returns as assigned.
- Coordinate printing of payroll tax returns, checks and/or notice resolution documents.
- Faxing, copying and mailing documents.
- Address tax team emails and cases and manage internal/external cases meeting or exceeding service level agreements (SLAs).
- Research and resolve tax notices, correspondence or communication received from clients or governmental agencies.
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly and yearly processing of tax returns, which includes reconciling tax amounts, and filing returns through various methods. Continuously review filing and payment methods every quarter and work to make the process more efficient.
- Cross-reference information in payroll, tax and CRM systems to ensure accuracy.
- Review data at quarter/year end for accuracy and document as required for organizational requirements.
- Work with Supervisor for continued development and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Prior experience in accounting tax or payroll environment.
- Master Tax or iSolve experience.
- Solid interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Consistent and sustained quality in data entry and ability to meet deadlines.
- Highly organized and exceptionally detailed oriented.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt to a fast paced, constantly evolving business and work environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks and projects.
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to complete tasks with little supervision.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Suite.
- Experience with web-based payroll, tax and CRM software preferred.
