Job DescriptionNorthshore Academy Upper School provides a specialized, therapeutic educational program for students in grades 7–12 requiring support for social, emotional, and behavioral health needs. Our students may experience challenges related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, nonverbal learning disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Position OverviewNorthshore Academy Upper School seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented, professional receptionist to oversee daily operations of the front office. The person will serve as point of contact for staff, students, families, and visitors, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of administrative processes in a fast-paced school environment.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students, and staff
- Answer and direct phone calls in a courteous and professional manner
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries
- Provide administrative support to the Principal and office
- Maintain accurate student records using systems such as Power School and ESPED
- Track and manage student and staff attendance records
- Coordinate purchasing, ordering, and inventory of office and school supplies
- Support admissions processes and assist with student enrollment documentation
- Perform general office duties, including filing, copying, and document management
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor with ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented in a dynamic school environment
- Experience in a school, educational, or clinical setting preferred
- Proficiency with Google Workspace; experience with student information systems is a plus
- High School diploma required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred - At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Associate degree preferred
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM - Work Year: 10 months/year on school calendar plus 10 days during the summer
- Hourly: $23 (Non-Exempt Position)
