About the Role

As a Camp Inclusion Technician
, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every camper has the opportunity to thrive. You will help implement behavior and inclusion plans tailored to individual children, fostering a supportive and welcoming camp environment.

On a typical day, you ll be working at one of our multiple camp locations, including:

  • Children s Island (Marblehead)
  • Camp Trickling Falls (New Hampshire - serving Haverhill & Plaistow)
  • Camp Cedar Mill (Ipswich)
  • Camp Sterling Woods (Beverly)
  • Camp Harbor Quest (Salem)
  • Camp Spindrift (Cape Ann)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting youth programming and implementing individualized inclusion plans
  • Monitoring behavior, documenting observations, and providing timely communication
  • Teaching social and emotional skills through structured activities and positive interventions
  • Assisting staff with incorporating modifications and accommodations to enhance inclusivity
  • Encouraging a positive, supportive, and engaging environment for all campers
What You Bring to the Team
  • Experience working with children of diverse abilities in an educational or recreational setting
  • Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and social-emotional learning techniques
  • The ability to adapt and implement best practices with flexibility and creativity
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills to assess and respond to behaviors effectively

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Completion of a child growth and development course with a minimum of three years of experience working with youth, OR an Associate s Degree in a youth service or related field with at least two years of experience working with youth.
  • Prior experience working with diverse populations and the ability to build positive, authentic relationships with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of child development and social-emotional health with the ability to implement appropriate child safety plans
    .
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and respond appropriately when working with children, families, and staff in a program setting.
  • This is a 12-week seasonal position running from mid-June through the end of August
    .
Requirements
  • Valid driver s license and reliable transportation
    .
  • Ability to provide and maintain all required certifications and documentation as required by the YMCA and any applicable licensing agencies.
  • Completion of all trainings, certifications, and program orientation in accordance with the YMCA of the North Shore and local licensing requirements.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs
    .
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, and move freely to ensure a safe environment for children.
  • Must be able to react quickly and effectively to unpredictable situations involving youth.
