Lower School Support Teacher (Grades 1-3)

Glen Urquhart School (GUS), an independent, coeducational day school in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts, is seeking a full‑time Lower Elementary Support Teacher for SY26‑27. The role supports student learning across grades one, two, and three, with responsibilities in classroom instruction, collaboration, assessment, and participation in school activities. Salary: $30,000–$40,000 per year.

• Assess student progress and provide instructional support.
• Collaborate with grade‑level teams to meet academic and developmental goals.
• Manage and organize classrooms, establish routines to support learning.
• Plan interdisciplinary and thematic lessons.
• Participate in parent conferences, meetings, and communicate regularly with parents.
• Work collaboratively with all Lower School teachers.
• Keep accurate, up‑to‑date records on student progress.
• Attend weekly school meetings, functions, and community events.
• Support the mission, philosophy, and core curriculum of the School.

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• 1–2 years of elementary classroom teaching experience or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse and inclusive community.
• Familiarity with developmental needs of elementary‑age students and current theories and practices that support a dynamic elementary education program.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• U.S. citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
