Title: Teaching Assistant for Illustration I

Hours Needed Each Week: 6+ hours per week

Pay: $16 per hour

Summary: Illustration is looking for a self-driven, communicative, and energetic individual to help with instruction for the Fall 2026 Illustration I class. Students should carry a positive attitude, driven and communicative with fellow students in the classroom, adaptable to changing schedules, assignments, or student concerns, and readily help with assignment preparation and critique.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Serve as a secondary teaching instructor in class, must be available Monday and Wednesday 12:00pm – 3:00pm during the semester.
• Work with the faculty with the delivery of the course content and assisting students with assignments as needed
• Prepare the instructional space for classes on a weekly basis, making sure the necessary course materials and equipment are prepared, the classroom is organized and set-up for instruction.
• Clean up classroom space and materials as needed at the end of class.
• Help prepare and manage the course Discord and other course materials.
• Assist students with learning and troubleshooting processes and projects, in particular with composition, ideation, perspective, or other basic drawing concerns.
• Be a resource for students outside of class (peer to peer tutoring style)

Required Qualifications:

Communicative, outgoing and extroverted for purposes of critique and in-class activities.

Knowledgeable of fundamental visual communication practices; able to articulate concepts and ideas effectively.

Professional, kind, and understanding to student experiences with the goal to assist.

On-time, present, and active in the classroom.

Ability to research and present materials to assist with assignments, creative references, or student troubleshooting.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

May require moving tables/chairs or other classroom equipment, collecting materials at the end of class, presenting information to students, or mobility related activities outside the classroom (such as walking short distances in Beverly).
