Position: Teaching Assistant for AN390 Animation Studio Projects (Fall 2026)

Title:

Teaching Assistant for AN390 Animation Studio Projects Department:
Animation Hours Needed Each Week: 8-9 hours per week Expected Duration of the Job:
Fall 2026

Pay: $16 per hour

Summary:

Serve as a secondary teaching instructor in class. Must be available Tuesday/Thursday 3:40pm-6:20pm during the semester with 5-10 hours of planning before the start of the semester. Work with the faculty with the delivery of the course content and assisting students with assignments as needed. Prepare the instructional space for classes on a weekly basis, making sure the necessary course materials and equipment are prepared, the classroom is organized and set-up for instruction.

Help prepare and manage the course Discord, Canvas, and other course materials. Be a resource for students outside of class (peer to peer tutoring style).

Required Qualifications:

Uphold a professional and respectful demeanor

Must be a junior or senior, with GPA 3.0 or higher

Previously taken Animation Studio Projects

Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Serve as a secondary teaching instructor in class, TA must be available during the class meeting times
  • Assist a faculty member with teaching-related tasks
  • Prepare course materials and classroom set up prior to class meetings
  • Uphold a professional and responsible demeanor
  • Assist with demos and hands on activites
  • Be a resource for students outside of class (peer to peer tutoring style)
  • Assist in maintaining the course canvas site
  • Potentially substitute if faculty is absent from the course
  • Attend TA workshops throughout the semester
  • Maintain a teaching log/journal

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Indoors, at a computer. Walking around the classroom to speak with students at their desks. Otherwise, not physically strenuous.
