Lunch Monitor

Job Summary

Facilitate the safe and efficient operations of lunchroom and recess procedures.

• Ensure that all students follow established lunchtime and recess procedures.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the lunchroom following lunch meal time.
• Inform the building principal of lunchroom issues.
• Maintain a safe and positive lunchroom and playground/classroom atmosphere.
• Monitor and maintain the necessary lunchroom and recess supplies.
• Dismiss and monitor students from the lunchroom.
• Correct/redirect inappropriate/unsafe behavior.
• Refer significant concerns to the building principal.
• Document incidents of inappropriate behavior resulting in injury.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.

• Compensation is set in accordance with the Beverly Public Schools AFSCME Lunch Monitors collective bargaining agreement.

• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a CORI and SORI background check and fingerprint-based national criminal history check, in accordance with Massachusetts law.
• In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
