Build Health International (BHI) has a unique opportunity for a Project Manager – Renewable Energy.

In the role of Project Manager – Renewable Energy
, your responsibilities will be to lead end-to-end project delivery for electrical power and solar PV systems, providing technical oversight of design, documentation, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and field implementation while ensuring quality through Revit and AutoCAD. Coordinate stakeholders, manage risks and reporting, conduct field assessments, and mentor junior engineers and technicians to support successful delivery in low-resource environments.

Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead and contribute to each phase of project development, including initiation, planning, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and closeout
  • Technical Oversight: Manage the design and documentation of electrical power and control systems, including load calculations, system sizing, and generator and solar PV integration
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Lead effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to resolve project challenges within the constraints of low-resource settings and support BHI’s growing portfolio across the environmental and climate sectors

    Risk Management:

    Track project progress and report effectively on status, priorities, risks, staffing needs, and cost forecasting
  • Field Work Coordination: Coordinate field surveys and assessments of existing facilities and conduct periodic on-site inspections and detailed reviews of completed work
  • Procurement and Estimating: Develop and evaluate Bills of Quantities (BoQ), cost estimates, vendor qualifications, and support international procurement for electrical & solar PV systems
  • Design Quality: Oversee the production of design documents, using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
  • Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior staff, including field technicians, engineers, and interns
Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience as a solar or electrical engineer in the building design or construction industry, with at least 5 years in a project management role
  • Education: Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or equivalent experience
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of electrical systems (NEC/IEC codes), solar/battery storage, and proficiency in Bluebeam, Revit and AutoCAD
  • Interpersonal

    Excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with dispersed and diverse multi-cultural teams
  • Global Health Commitment: A deep passion for international development work and a strong interest in BHI’s mission to improve access to dignified, affordable, and high-quality healthcare infrastructure in resource‑constrained settings around the world
  • Travel: This position requires a valid passport and a willingness and ability to travel internationally to remote, low-resource locations for periods of up to two weeks as project demand requires
Other Information

Location: The Project Manager position will be based at the BHI office in Beverly, Massachusetts, with the opportunity to partially work remotely. However, we will consider fully remote candidates who demonstrate strong alignment with the role, responsibilities, and mission of the organization.

Compensation: The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 per year commensurate with experience.
