** About the Role
** Axcelis is seeking a Manufacturing Software Engineering Co-op to support our Operations Technology team in business system integration, custom applications, and operational analysis and optimization.

This role offers hands-on experience at the intersection of manufacturing, technology, and data-driven decision-making.

The ideal candidate is an engineering student with software experience who is eager to apply their skills in a manufacturing and operations-focused environment.
** What You’ll Do
*** Assist in developing and maintaining ERP integrations with manufacturing systems.
* Support the development of custom applications to streamline operations.
* Analyze operational data and contribute to process optimization initiatives.
* Work closely with engineering, production, and IT teams to solve real-world manufacturing challenges.
* Document findings and provide recommendations for efficiency improvements.
** What We’re Looking For
*** Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
* Experience with database setup and integration (MSSQL).
* Interest in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and technology integration.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

* Preferred Qualifications:

+ Proficiency in Python and JavaScript Node for application development and deployment.  +

Experience with databases (SQL)  + Familiarity with REST APIs and ERP systems.  + Understanding of data visualization and analysis techniques.
