DFX Architect

Job Description

• Apply DFX methodologies including DFM, DFA, DFQ, DFR, DFT, DFS, and DFE during product design and development.
• Participate in design reviews and provide structured DFX feedback and approvals.
• Identify design risks and drive corrective actions before product release.

• Analyze product designs to ensure alignment with manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Recommend design simplification, standardization, and part count reduction.
• Ensure designs support manual and automated assembly where applicable.

• Lead or support DFMEA and PFMEA activities.
• Identify Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) parameters and ensure they are adequately controlled.
• Support root cause analysis for field, production, or quality issues related to design.
• Develop and maintain DFX guidelines, checklists, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with internal engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support change management and engineering change reviews (ECR/ECO).

• Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
• Experience with DFM/DFA/DFMEA/PFMEA
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and process capability
• Ability to interpret 2D drawings and 3D CAD models
• Familiarity with materials, surface finishes, and production constraints

• CAD tools (Solid Works, Creo, NX, CATIA, etc.)
• PLM systems (Windchill, Teamcenter, Agile, etc.)
• FMEA and quality analysis tools
• Basic knowledge of SPC and statistical analysis

Salary Range: $110,000 - $165,000 a year
