• Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications.
• Execute engineering projects and development of electromechanical systems including power distribution, vacuum systems, high voltage, control systems, robotics, safety interlocks and electro-static chuck technologies.
• Ensures adherence to the development process including requirements planning, schedule estimates, concept reviews, design reviews, verification, and validation test plans.
• Provide electrical engineering interface to the design services group and to offshore teams to deliver quality designs and on-time performance.
• Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
• Ensures designs meet design objectives as well as safety, industry (SEMI), and customer specific requirements.
• Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
• May also review vendor capability to support product development.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience of electrical/electronic hardware design as an individual contributor.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience conducting technical design reviews with a larger group.
• Experience working with engineering change notices in formal change process.
• One or more of the following:
  Systems engineering, High-voltage, RF power, PCB design, Power Distribution Design skills with Altium, PADS, PSpice.
• Experience with Creo Schematic, Creo Cabling, Auto Cad is a plus.
• Windchill experience a plus.
• Semiconductor capital equipment experience a plus.

U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE $ - $. This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations. Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular employees working 20+ hours a week).
