What You’llDo:

The Role:

Reporting to both the Property Director and Senior Regional Engagement Manager, theSignature Event Assistant , supports Long Hill’sevent, Halloween on the Hillin a variety of areas.

The Event Assistanttasks may include providing retail support, welcoming people to the property, checking visitors in, selling concessions, parking, andmonitoringvisitorsafety.

The event runs October1– October 30, Wednesday through Sundaysexcept forthefirst and second weeks of October, whenthe event is Thursday through Sundaythen transitions to Wednesday – Sunday.

During the last week of October,the eventruns

Tuesday, October 27–Friday, October 30.The ideal candidate has excellent customerservicesskills,remainscalm under pressure, and arrives for each shift ina timely fashion.

About Halloween on the Hill:

Over the pastfiveyears, Halloween on the Hill has become an extremely popular family friendly event bringing significant awareness and visitation to Long Hil.

Nearly 2,000carved pumpkins are displayedcreativelythroughout thetrail,and the large-scale sets are an audience draw. A similar event takes place at Naumkeag in Stockbridge. This event brought in over 25,000peopleto

Long Hill in 2026.

Specifically,you’ll:
  • Support visitor services on the days of the events, including retail support, welcoming people to the property, checking visitors in, concessions,parking,and monitoring for safety.
  • Provide exemplary external and internal customer service
  • Bring a fun spirit
  • Support the Halloween on the Hillteamto produce a successful event.

This is aseasonal, non-exempt position reporting directly tothe Property Director and Senior Regional Engagement Manager.

What You’llNeed:

Skills and Experience:
  • Excellent “people skills” toinspire, motivate, and work cooperatively and harmoniously with fellow employees, volunteers, committees, members, and the public.
  • Retail or customer service experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
  • Provenabilityto complete assigned tasks and projects, meet deadlines,and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong commitment to the mission of The Trustees of Reservations.
  • Abilityto work nights and weekends is required.
  • Ability to drive and arrive on time for each shift
  • Other duties as assigned.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • The ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Lift up to30 pounds
  • Push and pull heavy objects
  • Able to be on feet for 4 – 6 hours at a time
  • Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.
  • A valid driver’s license, as well as a satisfactory driving record as outlined in The Trustees’ driving policy. [if needed]
  • A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check.
