Beverly Hospital is a Level III Trauma Center and a not‑for‑profit community hospital located on the North Shore of Massachusetts. It is part of the Beth Israel Lahey Health System and serves patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric, with inpatient maternity and psychiatry services.
Position TitlePharmacy Technician Cert I – _Under_Construction
Job SummaryPharmacy Technicians ensure safe, effective, and timely patient‑centered care. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, you will prepare, dispense, and store pharmaceuticals, including intravenous admixtures and chemotherapy products, using computerized and automated systems. You will collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other personnel, train other technicians, and assist in administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, dispense, and store pharmaceuticals for patients.
- Use computerized and automated dispensing systems.
- Prepare intravenous admixtures and chemotherapy products.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel regarding pharmaceutical care.
- Teach and train other technicians once qualified and assist in administrative duties.
- Knowledge of hospital practice and operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact constructively with supervisors, peers, and other colleagues.
- Expertise in clinical knowledge and patient care.
- Current licensure with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Valid national pharmacy certification.
- High School graduate, at least 18 years of age.
- At least 2 years of hospital or related pharmacy experience preferred; exceptional aptitude or knowledge may be considered in lieu of experience.
- Minimum of 1,000 hours of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
All weekday shifts start at either 6:00 am or 7:00 am, with rare rotations for evening shifts (starting at 2:30 pm or 3:00 pm) during vacation coverage. The position will rotate on‑call overnight and for weekend coverage approximately once every three weeks.
Must be willing to work at multiple locations (Beverly, Addison Gilbert, Bayridge, LOCD, etc.) and have a personal vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
Pay Range$24.50‑$32.97 per hour (base hourly wage). Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime, and other additional pay practices.
Vaccination RequirementAll staff must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.
