Job Overview

Mass General Brigham Home Care provides non‑acute, medically necessary skilled care in the home to help (homebound) patients recover from illness or injury and manage exacerbations of chronic disease. Services include skilled nursing care (IV drug administration, injections, tube feeding, wound care, care‑plan education), physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech‑language pathology, medical social services, and as‑needed medical supplies.

Position

We are seeking a part‑time, 32‑hour Home Health Aide to join our team. New HHA and CNA graduates are welcome to apply.

This role involves visiting patients in Swampscott, Marblehead, Peabody, Salem, and surrounding towns. Schedules are flexible and can be tailored to availability Monday‑Friday. The number of daily visits will vary based on total hours worked each week.

Responsibilities

The HHA delivers personal care services—bathing, grooming, meal assistance, mobility support, and medication reminders—to help patients live safely and comfortably at their homes, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living communities. Guided by a personalized plan of care and supported by an expert nursing and therapy team, the HHA will play a hands‑on role in helping individuals maintain independence, dignity, and well‑being.

  • Help patients with personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, and other daily tasks.
  • Perform basic health care services for patients, including checking vital signs or administering prescription medication.
  • Help with general light housekeeping.
  • Make transportation arrangements as needed.
  • Observe and report on patient’s condition.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Licenses and Credentials
  • Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver’s License (State License) – preferred.
  • Certified Home Health Aide – preferred.
Experience

Clinical/Hospital/Managed Care Office

Experience:

1–2 years preferred or Patient Care

Experience:

0–1 year preferred.

Qualifications & Strengths
  • Massachusetts Home Care Aide Certification.
  • Pass the Massachusetts Council Home Care Aide exam.
  • One year of home health aide experience.
  • Ability to complete five clinical training modules.
  • Computer experience or demonstrated aptitude to learn.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to meet communication and documentation requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required to interact with a broad population.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Organized and able to independently and reliably follow specific instructions.
