Job Description
Under the supervision of the Team Leader and/or Assistant Team Leader, the CT Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic computerized tomographic scanner radiographs (CT) scan procedures including emergency, inpatient and outpatient populations, utilizing ionizing radiation. The technologist is responsible for monitoring and maintaining essential patient care and safety, including practicing ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable). Flexibility to work overtime, cover at other sites as needed, on‑call, and holiday rotation is mandatory.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Obtain and document necessary patient information/history to perform appropriate exam.
- Document all pertinent information involving the use of IV/oral contrast in the medical record and obtain accurate allergy information.
- Perform all CT exams with 100% accuracy.
- Begin and complete exams utilizing the RIS with 100% accuracy, 98‑100% of the time.
- Use the CT work list with 100% accuracy (correct patient demographics, accession number).
- Properly QC exams using PACS system.
- Properly evaluate images for diagnostic purposes/recognize anatomy and pathology for need of additional scan.
- Practice ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable).
- Accurately follow department clinical protocols and standards, including but not limited to post‑processing.
- Readily and willingly contribute to team approach to provide optimal quality care for patients; on‑call and holiday rotation.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and colleagues; incorporate Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles and Mission Statement into daily activities.
- Demonstrate an understanding of job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.
- Commit to meeting and exceeding the needs of customers and consistently adhere to customer service standards.
- Participate in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
- Participate in and successfully complete mandatory education.
- Comply with all Lahey Clinic policies and behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic.
- Maintain courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.
- Perform all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.

Education:
Two‑year AMA accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
Licensure, Certification, Registration:
Registered by the ARRT or registry eligible; licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Department of Public Health:
Radiation Control Program in the specialties the technologist practices; maintain licensure annually; if currently trained in CT, must obtain CT certification within 12 months of employment; requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Proficient in cross‑sectional anatomy; proficient in the use of CT scanners, power injector, venipuncture and mobile scanner, or ability to be trained to a level of competency and obtain certification within 18 months of completing training.
Experience:
One year in a trauma setting; 2 years’ experience in hospital setting preferred; prior experience in a trauma center/prior experience with RIS/PACS preferred.
$47.00 – $69.84 per hour. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, including seniority, education, training, relevant experience, certifications, location, job responsibilities, shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
