Job Responsibilities
- Learn the Primary Reference Standard "Atomic Clocks" and help in trouble shooting customer issues.
- Interpret schematics, assembly drawings and production/manufacturing procedures.
- Troubleshoot FTS timing and synchronization systems to assist customers with fault identification.
- Log customer cases in the CRM System.
- Work on solutions or workarounds and elevate if the customer is in a critical situation and no timely solution is available.
- Communicate effectively with the customer.
- Communicate proactively with Technical Support Management.
- Document the solution and provide timely updates of the customer case status in the CRM.
- Focus on presales and post‑sales technical engagements for Microchip Frequency and Time Systems (FTS) products.
- Provide front line technical and applications support to customers and internal sales forces.
- Provide technical presentations and training that reflect customer requirements with emphasis on scalable features of Microchip FTS equipment.
- BS in Electrical Engineering.
- 4‑6 years experience.
- Basic knowledge/understanding of frequency references, protocols and network timing technologies including NTP, PTP, IRIG, GPS, GNSS, Network Synchronization and Test Methodologies.
- Perform data analysis using proprietary software tools.
- Effective communication skills (writing and speaking) and readiness to engage in phone or web‑based conference calls.
- PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Self‑motivated with exceptional organization skills.
- Systematic approach to problem solving with strong attention to detail.
- Four or more years of technical support or customer service experience.
- Effective and proactive communication.

Pay RangeThe annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the U.S., is $68,640 - $205,000.
We offer a total compensation package that includes base pay, restricted stock units, quarterly bonuses, health benefits, retirement savings plans, and an ESPP program.
