Position Summary The Housekeeper at Endicott College plays a key role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming campus facilities. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks across academic buildings, offices, and common areas. A successful Housekeeper will take pride in their work, demonstrate reliability, and contribute to a positive campus experience for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities In Order Of Importance To Job

• Clean and sanitize college buildings, including restrooms, kitchens, offices, and classrooms, to promote a safe and healthy environment.
• Replenish paper products, toilet supplies, and replace accessible light bulbs as needed.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, waxing, wiping down furniture, sweeping, and mopping floors.
• Wash walls, baseboards, and doors to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
• Clean windows, both interior and accessible exterior surfaces, as part of regular upkeep.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling from designated areas.
• Patrol exterior building areas to pick up debris and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
• Complete additional assignments and duties as assigned to support departmental goals and campus operations.

Qualifications

• At least one year of custodial or housekeeping experience, preferably in a college, institutional, or commercial setting.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning methods, safe handling of cleaning chemicals, and familiarity with materials and tools used in custodial work.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs., climb stairs, and perform tasks requiring repetitive motions and prolonged periods of standing.
• A strong sense of accountability, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality work.
• Dependability, time management skills, and a strong work ethic to meet deadlines and follow cleaning schedules.
• Ability to communicate effectively, solve minor problems, and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to collaborate and contribute to a cooperative work environment.
• Flexibility and availability to work overtime or varied shifts as needed to support college operations.
• Reliable transportation.
• A valid Massachusetts driver’s license and current proof of vehicle registration.
