Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping buildings safe and well-maintained? The YMCA of the North Shore is looking for a Facilities Technician – Housing to support our housing properties and other YMCA locations.

What You'll Do- Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general building repairs.
- Complete apartment turnovers, including painting, patching, caulking, and minor repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inspect units and common areas for safety concerns.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including landscaping, snow removal, and sidewalk safety.
- Respond to urgent maintenance requests and document completed work.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies, and coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
- Communicate with residents and staff to coordinate maintenance needs and priorities.

- High school diploma, GED/HiSET, or equivalent experience required.
- 5–10 years of experience in facilities or residential maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Familiarity with housing codes, fire safety regulations, and building maintenance standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues, work independently, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks.
- Ability to bend, twist, climb stairs, reach, and lift as needed.
- Ability to navigate multi-level buildings and uneven indoor and outdoor surfaces.
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Visual and auditory ability to recognize and respond to urgent or emergencies.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required for travel between YMCA locations.
