Job DescriptionMicrochip Technology Inc. is seeking a Welder/Machinist to join our team in the Cesium Beam Tube (CBT) department. The Welder/Machinist will also operate other equipment in the factory as needed. Microchip offers comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure you are fully equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel sheet metal components.
- Operate equipment in a small machine shop.
- Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Operate other equipment which may include media blast cabinets, industrial degreasers, and/or hydrogen furnaces.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience TIG welding.
- Able to operate a manual lathe, milling machine, and surface grinder.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in a machine shop setting.
- Basic computer skills for reviewing documents, emailing, and online training sessions.

Compensation and BenefitsPay Range:
The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $20.05 - $35.00 per hour. The range is dependent on factors including location, skills, and experience. We offer a total compensation package that includes competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. Benefits begin day one and include health benefits, retirement savings plans, and an industry-leading ESPP program with a 2-year look-back feature.
