Our team is expanding, and we are currently hiring a Quality Inspector III – Manufacturing, The Quality Inspector III is responsible for supporting assembly and module-build quality activities for semiconductor equipment, assemblies, subassemblies, and components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, build documentation, workmanship standards, and quality requirements.

This role focuses on in-process and module inspections throughout assembly operations. This role will contribute to the effective management of the environmental, health and safety program at Axcelis’ semiconductor equipment manufacturing facility in Beverly MA.Responsibilities:

Partners with Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, Operations leadership and technicians to facilitate data driven continual improvements in manufacturing build processes.

Perform in-process, module, first article, and final inspections during assembly and module-build activities for semiconductor equipment, precision parts, cables, electromechanical assemblies, and related components.

Verify assembly and module-build conformity against drawings, bills of material, inspection plans, work instructions, routers, and applicable quality standards.

Use precision measuring and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, microscopes, optical measuring equipment, and electrical test tools as required.

Interpret 2D engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and acceptance criteria to determine pass/fail status.

Document assembly and module-build verification results accurately in quality records, MES, MS Dynamics and maintain clear traceability.

Daily leadership of the Customer Readiness Review (CRR) process; communicate assembly and module-build quality findings to production, engineering, and quality personnel and escalate issues when necessary.

Inspect reworked, reconfigurations, or repaired items to verify corrective actions have been completed effectively.

Support root cause investigations, continuous improvement efforts, and updates to inspection procedures or checklists.

Perform CRR assembly process audits, verify adherence to build requirements, and support compliance with basic ISO quality system requirements and 5S workplace organization standards. Communicate findings, distribute data and follow up on corrective action closure

Assist in training or mentoring less experienced inspectors on assembly verification methods, workmanship standards, and build documentation practices.

May include travel, approximately 5-10%

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or associate degree in manufacturing, electronics, mechanical inspection, or a related field preferred.

Typically 3–5 years of experience in assembly quality, module-build quality, manufacturing quality, or precision inspection in semiconductor, electronics, or similar high-technology industries.

Strong experience supporting quality verification for complex mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic assemblies and module builds.

Proficiency in the use of standard inspection and measurement tools.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, procedures, and specifications in Imperial and Metric.
