What You’llDo:
The Role:

The Signature Events Steward reportsto the Property Director and Halloween on the Hillevent manager, supporting stewardship project sand visitor servicesthatrelate to Halloweenon the Hill at Long Hill in Beverly, MA.The setupfor the event will start inearly tomid-August. Theeventrunsfrom October1
- October
30followed bythe breakdown which will take 2 – 3 weeksin November.

Halloween on the Hill is open to the public, Wednesday – Sunday, 5:30 –8/8:30 PM,(4–8:30PMon Fridays) with a few exceptions. Please note that setup,and breakdown schedules can be up to40 hoursbut 25 – 30 hours during event run.

About Halloween on the Hill:

Over the pastsixyears, Halloween on the Hill has become an extremelypopular family friendlyevent bringing significant awareness and visitation to Long Hil. Over2,000carved pumpkins are displayedcreativelythroughout thetrail,and the large-scale sets are anaudiencedraw.

A similar event takes place at Naumkeag in Stockbridge.

This event brought in over
25,000people

Long Hill in 2025.

Specifically,you’ll:
  • Work in concert with the Halloween on the Hill Event Manager,North Shore Senior Regional Engagement Manager, Long Hill Steward,and Property Director to plan and perform the installation of lights, sets,and decoration for the eventalong with other daily maintenance work as required
  • Support visitor services on the days of the event, including retail support, welcoming people to the property, checking visitors in, concessions,parking,and monitoring for safety.
  • Support the Halloween on the Hillteamto produce a successfulfamily funevent.

This is aseasonal, non-exempt position reporting directly tothe Property Director.

What You’llNeed:
Skills and Experience:
  • Excellent “people skills” to lead, inspire, motivate, and work cooperatively and harmoniously with fellow employees, volunteers, committees, members, and the public.
  • Retail or Customer service experiencea plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
  • Provenabilityto complete assigned tasks and projects, meet deadlines,and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong commitment to the mission of The Trustees of Reservations.
  • Willingness to bring your creativeenergyandfunspirit.
  • Abilityto work nights and weekends is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • The ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Push and pull heavy objects
  • Climbladder
  • Authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.
  • A valid driver’s license, as well as a satisfactory driving record as outlined in The Trustees’ driving policy. [if needed]
  • A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check.
