The Maternal Newborn Service at Beverly Hospital provides the full scope of perinatal care in collaboration with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center which includes; prenatal evaluation of mother and fetus, intrapartum care for labor and birth, intraoperative and recovery care for an operative delivery, postpartum care, maternal/newborn care as a couplet dyad for well babies, and special care for premature and newborns requiring a higher level of care.

The department includes strong interdisciplinary collaboration between labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn nursery, a level IIB special care nursery, a parent education department and a lactation consultation service.

About Our Program The Maternal Newborn Service provides the full spectrum of perinatal care in close collaboration with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, including:

Prenatal evaluation of mother and fetus

Intrapartum care for labor and birth

Intraoperative and recovery care for operative deliveries

Postpartum and couplet care for well mothers and newborns

Specialized care for premature and high‑risk newborns within a Level IIB Special Care Nursery Our department is recognized for its strong interdisciplinary teamwork, bringing together Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, Special Care Nursery, Parent Education, and Lactation Consultation services to deliver seamless, personalized care.

The Role Reporting to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, the Nurse Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day operations and professional practice of assigned maternal‑newborn units. This leader partners closely with interdisciplinary stakeholders to ensure high‑quality care delivery, staff engagement, and excellent patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

Oversight of clinical practice and unit operations

Staff leadership, coaching, and performance evaluation

Quality improvement and regulatory compliance

Coordination of patient care delivery and systems

Human resource and fiscal management

Ongoing professional development and leadership growth

The Nurse Manager practices within the Beverly Hospital Professional Practice Model, the MA Nurse Practice Act, and ANA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

Qualifications Education Bachelor  of Science in Nursing required

Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred

Licensure & Certification Current Massachusetts RN licenseBLS certification

Experience & Skills Minimum of five years of inpatient nursing experience in Maternal Newborn Services At least two years of nursing leadership experience

Strong clinical knowledge, organizational ability, and interpersonal skills

Basic computer proficiency

Pay Range:$ USD – $ USDThe pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
