Job Description:

The Maternal Newborn Service at Beverly Hospital provides the full scope of perinatal care in collaboration with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Services include prenatal evaluation of mother and fetus, intrapartum care for labor and birth, intraoperative and recovery care for operative deliveries, postpartum care, maternal/newborn care as a dyad for well babies, and special care for premature and newborns requiring a higher level of care.

The department fosters strong interdisciplinary collaboration among labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn nursery, Level IIB special care nursery, North Shore Birth Center, parent education department, and lactation consultation service.

• Complete assessments and essential care for both mother and newborn.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Observe patient progress and evaluate therapies.
• Provide evidence‑based care that addresses the physical, developmental, emotional, and psychological needs of mothers, newborns, and families from admission through discharge.
• Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop individualized health‑care plans.
• Support and educate patients and their loved ones to achieve maximum outcomes with a knowledge base of community resources upon discharge.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required.
• Experience in Labor & Delivery (L&D) and MB. Prior L&D experience preferred.
• OB experience required.

$36.00 - $79.12

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
