** Position Overview
** Reporting to the Associate Vice Presidents of Facilities Operations, the Supervisor of Carpentry is a working supervisor responsible for repairs, preventive maintenance, work orders, and renovations. You will lead a skilled in-house team of carpenters and a locksmith, and coordinate with other departments to ensure that all college-owned historic and modern facilities are in good repair, remain safe, sustainable, and fully operational.

** Key Responsibilities*
* * Supervise and lead the daily operations of the carpentry shop, including assigning work, scheduling staff, and ensuring quality workmanship.
* Maintain and repair campus facilities by overseeing and performing skilled carpentry work for academic, residential, and administrative buildings.
* Plan and coordinate projects, including estimating labor and materials, prioritizing work orders, and collaborating with other Facilities Management administration, trades and campus departments.
* Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing OSHA regulations, College safety policies, and applicable building codes.
* Manage shop operations, including inventory, tools, equipment, and maintenance records.
* Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to maintenance requests and communicating effectively with faculty, staff, students, and contractors.
* Obtain quotes, coordinate with, and oversee outside contractors as necessary.
* Support emergency response and campus operations, including after-hours emergencies, severe weather, snow removal, and special projects.
* Participates in the on-call policy.
* Performs other duties as needed to meet the needs and goals of the department and College.

* * Be an active participant in the life of the College by attending and supporting key events like Commencement, Homecoming, and all other hands-on-deck gatherings. Show spirit of collaboration and community involvement, including volunteering when possible.
