What we need in a nutshell
This is not a typical park safety role. It’s much better! Based at the beautiful location of Appletree Country Park, you will be keeping our holiday makers secure as well as helping them out when they need assistance.
We need you to deliver delight by being the person our holidays makers can rely upon day and night, keeping them safe and being there when they need help.
Who we are?
We are a dynamic and growing company, shaking up the Great British holiday. At our amazing UK resorts we pull out all the stops and add the bells and whistles to give our guests the holiday of a lifetime. Find out more about our holiday experience on our website: .
What you'll be doing
Working as part of our team of holiday heroes, you will be part of the team that makes sure the park is secure and safe at night and day. You will be a reassuring presence for guests, and you’ll be there in an emergency. It’s a varied and exciting job with responsibilities that include:
- Welcoming guests into our park at the entrance and monitoring vehicles that wish to gain access.
- Patrolling the park by foot and vehicle, ensuring the perimeters are secure and all is well within the park.
- Helping guests with out-of-hours problems and delivering gas on the rare occasion a guest may have run out.
- Supporting with Guest Services duties from 17:30 onwards, helping our guests with their queries, requests and any assistance they may need.
- Supporting the Park Services Manager with the day-to-day leadership of our Park Safety Team, including coaching, training and developing the team.
- Ensuring all nightly safety, security and operational checks are completed to the right standard, with a detailed nightly report highlighting how the shift has gone and anything the wider team needs to know for the morning.
- Maintaining a visible presence across the park, patrolling by foot and vehicle and ensuring our guests, team and park remain safe and secure.
- Taking the lead on out-of-hours incidents including fire alarms, first aid, security concerns and conflict, remaining calm and proactive when issues arise.
- Supporting guests with a wide range of out-of-hours needs – from late check-ins and cleanliness concerns to resetting boilers, hot tub issues and occasional gas deliveries.
- Completing the nightly driving range ball collection, ensuring the driving range continues to operate smoothly through to closing, and providing support to the Food & Beverage team where needed.
- Taking responsibility for the end-of-night lock-up, ensuring all areas are secure, equipment is switched off and the park is left safe and secure overnight.
You will work a variety of shifts, including 17:00 - 00:30 and 00:30 - 09:00, across various days of the week, including weekends and bank holidays.
And who knows what else you may find yourself doing. As long as you’re happy to help even when it’s ‘not your job,’ you’re our sort of person.
One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you will need to work your magic on bank holidays and weekends too.
Skills, experience, and qualities you’ll need.
This is a great role for the right person, and we will provide full training and induction, so lots of experience is not as important as the right attitude. The only ‘must-haves’ are.
- Full Driving Licence
- Customer service skills – we want someone who is friendly and cheerful to our guests.
- A customer-focused approach, with a willingness to support guests with their needs and queries.
It’s about your values too. We have a can-do, fun loving, people centred ethos here at Away Resorts, which is captured by our holiday heroes’ mantra of Attentive…
