We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join a reputable service centre in Erith. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to develop their career within the heavy goods vehicle maintenance industry. Our client offers a well-equipped workshop environment dedicated to quality service and safety standards.
Key benefits of the HGV Technician:
Up to £25 per hour depending on experience, with overtime paid at time and a half
Monday to Friday early shift from 08:00 to 16:30, including a half-hour lunch break
One in two Saturdays on a rota basis

Duties of the HGV Technician:
Carrying out major and minor repairs on HGVs, trailers, and other commercial vehicles
Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance, including oil changes and tyre rotations
Maintaining workshop inventory and ensuring a safe, clean working environment
Assisting diagnosis and planning of repairs in collaboration with colleagues
Keeping detailed records of all repairs and maintenance activities
Providing roadside emergency repair services as required as the HGV Technician
Completing job paperwork and warranty claims accurately, escalating issues where necessary
Requirements of the HGV Technician:
Level 3 NVQ, City and Guilds, or IMI qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
Ability to identify worn or faulty components in accordance with DVSA standards
Full UK driving licence relevant to the vehicle classes worked on
Proven experience in heavy vehicle repair, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently within a team and maintain high service standards
