About the Role As a Slinger/Signaller, you will be responsible for safely preparing, attaching and guiding loads during lifting operations. You will work closely with crane operators and the wider engineering team to ensure all lifting activities are carried out safely and efficiently. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a stable, long-term position working regular day shifts, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities Safely sling, attach and guide a variety of loads for lifting operations. Select and use the correct lifting accessories for each load. Carry out pre-use checks of slings, shackles, chains and other lifting equipment. Ensure loads are correctly secured, balanced and positioned before lifting. Direct and communicate clearly with crane operators using recognised signals and radio communication where required.

Guide loads safely into position and assist with accurate placement. Maintain safe exclusion zones around lifting operations. Follow lifting plans, risk assessments, method statements and company procedures. Work closely with crane operators, supervisors and other members of the engineering team. Report any damaged lifting equipment, unsafe conditions or issues immediately. Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment. Comply with all company health and safety requirements.

About You The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience working as a Slinger/Signaller in an engineering, manufacturing or construction environment. A recognised CPCS or NPORS Slinger/Signaller qualification . Good knowledge of safe lifting practices and lifting accessories. The ability to assess loads and select suitable lifting equipment. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with crane operators and colleagues. A strong commitment to health and safety.
