Construction Inspector
Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Maine. Our professional engineers and technicians oversee project construction from pre‑construction through finalization with an outstanding track record for cost and schedule containment. Our ACI, SAT, and NICET certified construction professionals have extensive on‑the‑job experience in supervision, observation, safety oversight, and inspection. They ensure that daily schedules are adhered to and all materials are procured and constructed according to plans and specifications.
We work with clients to achieve optimum value, schedule, and project quality for heavy highway, single and multi‑span bridges, intersection and traffic signal improvements, marine improvements, water/wastewater transmission, building and vertical project management, park and recreation construction, and condition assessment and asset inventory. We also foster public relations and communications with local business owners, residents, and elected officials in the surrounding communities.
- Responsible for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects including measuring and calculating quantities and documenting work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches.
- Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with standard specifications.
- Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, and specifications to the work and make decisions.
- Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project.
- Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work.
- 1+ year of related construction inspection experience required.
- ACI and NETTCP certifications preferred.
- Knowledge in federally aided transportation projects as a construction inspector preferred.
- Experience working with/for Maine
DOT and/or municipal clients preferred. - Valid driver’s license required.
- Team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others.
- Strong mathematics skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
