As a Senior Building Surveyor in our Oxford office, you’ll be part of a small, collaborative team of Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors, working together to deliver high‑quality outcomes for our clients. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead site inspections, assess building conditions, identify defects, and provide expert advice on remedial solutions.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports with clear recommendations to help clients make informed decisions.
  • Lead projects across sectors such as prime residential, healthcare, education, heritage, and leisure, working closely with the Building Surveying Partner.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, provide regular updates, and resolve queries efficiently.
  • Ensure all work meets current building regulations, statutory requirements, and health and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and uphold the highest professional standards at every stage.
Qualifications and Experience
  • MRICS qualification or equivalent; hold or demonstrate a clear commitment to obtaining MRICS chartered status.
  • Extensive experience in client delivery within a construction consultancy environment.
Skills
  • In‑depth knowledge of health & safety legislation.
  • Commercially astute with a strong client‑facing approach.
  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in industry‑standard surveying tools and software such as digital measurement tools, CAD systems, and relevant surveying platforms.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
  • Highly organised with strong time‑management skills.
  • Optional: knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency, and building performance assessment.
