We are seeking enthusiastic and friendly individuals to join our team as Byway Ambassadors for the Rangeley Lakes National Scenic Byway Ambassador Program. Ambassadors will play a vital role by greeting and engaging visitors at scenic vistas throughout the summer season. This is an exciting opportunity to share your passion for the Rangeley Lakes Region and create a welcoming experience for new and returning visitors.

Description:

Applicants should have experience working with the public in an outdoor setting. The employment period begins in late May and continues through early September. Byway Ambassadors are responsible for connecting visitors along the Rangeley Lakes National Scenic Byway to opportunities in the region. Duties of the Ambassadors include, but are not limited to, the following:

Complete required training programs and communicate weekly with the Coordinator regarding availability and locations.

Engage with and welcome visitors at designated scenic overlooks, providing a friendly and informative presence while sharing knowledge about the Rangeley Lakes Region, including its history, attractions, and recreational opportunities.

Serve as an ambassador for the community, region, and local businesses by connecting visitors to the Chamber's community initiatives, local events or activities, and the Visitor Center.

Assist in distributing informational materials and answering questions about local resources and services.

Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive, cohesive ambassador experience.

Record data on interactions with visitors using a designated survey app; ambassadors should have a smartphone to facilitate this.

Shifts are 2 to 3 hours, and ambassadors must commit to a minimum of 8 shifts over the approximately 15-week season.

Compensation:

The compensation for this part-time, seasonal position is $16.00 per hour. Travel and travel time are not eligible for compensation.
