Position: Assistant Teaching Professor, Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry)
The School of Molecular and Physical Sciences (SMAPS) in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the University of New England (UNE) invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor faculty position with a focus in analytical chemistry, starting in August 2026. The successful candidate will join a collegial, engaged team of faculty and professional staff in a school offering academic programs in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, and Laboratory Science.

Responsibilities

The school seeks candidates to teach quantitative analysis and instrumental methods courses, as well as general chemistry and advanced courses of the candidates' expertise to meet the needs of the school and college. The teaching expectation is the equivalent of 12 credits per semester. The successful candidate will engage in curriculum development and participate in academic advising, recruiting, course and program assessment, and service to the school, college and university.

Qualifications

A master's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a closely related field is required at the

time of appointment; preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. or those with a

combination of professional experience and education that provide commensurate qualifications.
