BRCOT is seeking to hire a flexible but well‑organized individual who enjoys variety in their daily work. This position is critical to support our students' success and their career goals. This is a 35‑hour week, benefits‑eligible, school‑year‑only position. This position serves several functions: develops and maintains an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, abilities, and disabilities; provides academic intervention and support to struggling students;
assists with hands‑on teaching supervised by an instructor; covers classes when an instructor is not available; proctors tests; and meets with students in small groups or individually to provide reinforcement of learning material or skills needed to meet grade‑level benchmarks; assists the teacher in working with students individually or in small groups to reinforce material and skills as directed by the teacher and related staff members in both school and job settings.
- Eligible for appropriate Maine Department of Education certification (Ed Tech III‑027) and CHRC
- Experience in one of the CTE pathways
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Ability to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form by instructors.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must be highly organized with the ability to multitask.
- Must be detail‑oriented and self‑motivated.
- Must be a team player and get along well with others.
- Must demonstrate an extremely high regard for confidential and sensitive information.
- Must demonstrate flexibility, common sense, and good judgment.
- Uses effective basic strategies for behavior management, as well as crisis intervention strategies for prevention and intervention.
- Assists in planning lessons and activities for smaller groups or individual students under the direction of the teacher.
- Follows and supports the school and district administrative regulations and policies.
- Participates in appropriate in‑service workshops and conferences as directed.
- Attends extended‑hour events per contract guidelines.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, ability to compute rate, ratio, discounts, and percent, and to draw and interpret graphs.

- Perform such other duties that may be reasonably requested by the building administrators from time to time.
