Indoor Track Assistant Coach
Biddeford Schools are seeking an Indoor Track Assistant Coach for the 2025–2026 season.
Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to achieve individual and team success. The coach also models socially acceptable character development, self‑discipline, self‑confidence, and pride in student athletes.
Responsibilities- Organize and supervise the total sports program.
- Coaching experience in assigned major sports.
- Maintain substantial knowledge of technical aspects of the sport and continually examine new theories and procedures relevant to the field.
- Serve as an appropriate role model for student‑athletes through instructions and actions.
- Apply all athletic policies approved by the Biddeford School Department and implement them with the sports program staff.
- Interpret and consistently apply state and league regulations for staff.
- Understand proper administrative lines of command and refer requests or grievances through appropriate channels; attend required public, staff, and departmental meetings.
- Review the Coaches Handbook for guidance.
- Advise, coordinate, and support assistant coaches and middle school coaches in collaboration with the athletic director and principals.
- Establish philosophy, skills, and techniques for staff; design conferences, clinics, and meetings to ensure staff awareness.
- Encourage professional growth through clinic attendance according to local policy.
- Delegate duties, supervise implementation, assess staff effectiveness at season’s end, and evaluate all assistants.
- Maintain discipline, address grievances, and promote morale and cooperation.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the athletic director or principal.
- Ensure athletes remain in authorized areas of the building at appropriate times.
- Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) including fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.
