Job Duties
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
- Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assist in drill and practice activities.
- Participate in required workshops by request of Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director.
- Perform non-instructional, non-evaluating functions including suspension of students.
- Assist in preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, etc.
- Alert teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.

- Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education
- Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
Appropriate for Ed Technician Certification Level
ExperienceSuccessful prior classroom or working with students with special needs for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.
