Biddeford Schools are seeking a Special Education – Education Technicians II – Functional Life Skills. Schedule is family-friendly full-time or part-time. Rewarding and meaningful work with supportive teamwork, great benefits and Maine State retirement, and a paid meal break.
ResponsibilitiesReview and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assist in drill and practice activities.
- Participate in required workshops by request of the Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director.
- Perform academic support for small groups or one-on-one.
- Assist in preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions.
- Alert the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
- Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education (022).
- Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent, plus 3 years of post-secondary education. (60 credits)
ExperienceSuccessful prior classroom experience or working with students with special needs for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.
