Specific Job Details

Starting fall 2025. The high school serves grades 8-12. We expect staff and students to embrace our three key pillars of learning: discovery, educating the whole child, and supporting them with a positive culture and climate.

Brief

Job Duties

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

  • Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assist in drill and practice activities.
  • Participate in required workshops by request of the Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director.
  • Perform academic support for small groups or one‑on‑one.
  • Assist in the preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions.
  • Alert the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
  • Certification/License

    Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education ( 022). Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.

    Education

    High School Diploma or GED equivalent, plus 3 years of post‑secondary education (60 credits).

    Experience

    Successful prior classroom experience or working with students with special needs for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.
