Position: Ed Tech I, II or III - Behavior - BHS

Special Education - Education Technicians I, II or III

Biddeford and Dayton Schools and Southern Maine Administrative Collaborative are seeking special education education technicians I, II or III. Family-friendly schedules, rewarding and meaningful work, supportive teamwork, and great benefits and Maine state retirement are offered.

Brief job duties include reviewing and reinforcing learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assisting in drill and practice activities. Participation in required workshops by request of building leader, supervisor, or director. Performing non-instructional, non-evaluating functions including suspension of students. Assisting in preparation of instructional materials or providing classroom management functions during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, etc.

Alerting teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.

Certification as an education technician from the Maine Department of Education criminal history record check (CHRC), which includes fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education, is required. Appropriate education for Ed Technician certification level is required. Successful prior classroom experience or working with students with special needs for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required. Live and work in the Biddeford, Maine community located along the Atlantic coastline with miles of beaches views of the Saco River to its west less than 20 minutes south of the Greater Portland area less than two hours north of Boston.
