Biddeford Schools are seeking special education education technicians II in functional life skills. Family-friendly schedules are available (full-time and part-time). Specific job details:
Start as soon as possible. Brief job duties include reviewing and reinforcing learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assisting in drill and practice activities. Participation in required workshops by request of the building leader, supervisor, or director is also required. The ideal candidate will perform academic support for small groups or one-on-one, assist in the preparation of instructional materials, provide classroom management functions, and alert the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
Certification/license:
Certification as an education technician from the Maine Department of Education (022) and a criminal history record check (CHRC), which includes fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent, plus three years of post-secondary education (60 credits).
Experience:
Successful prior classroom experience or working with students with special needs for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.
Salary:
Per collective bargaining agreement.
