Elementary School ELL Classroom Teacher (.25) at Dayton Consolidated School.
Job OverviewStarting Fall 2026. Dayton Consolidated School is a highly rated public school located in Dayton, ME. It has 118 students in grades PK, K‑5 with a student‑teacher ratio of 10 to 1.
Responsibilities- Provides learning opportunities for English language acquisition across district curriculum.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for customized, small and large group instruction.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to create a conducive classroom atmosphere.
- Regularly assesses each student’s academic and social growth, maintains records, and prepares progress reports.
- Communicates with parents through conferences, newsletters, email, phone calls, and other electronic means to discuss student progress.
- Secures interpreters and translations of important documents to communicate with families.
- Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff to help students benefit from the district curriculum.
- Creates an effective learning environment through a variety of learning tools.
- Performs other duties as assigned by administration.
Eligible for appropriate Maine Department of Education ELL Certification (660). Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.
EducationBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment. Master’s Degree in related area preferred.
ExperienceSuccessful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.
SalaryPer Collective Bargaining Agreement.
