Student Support and Resiliency Educational Technician III

Dayton School Department is seeking a Student Support and Resiliency Educational Technician III. School Related Dayton Consolidated School is a highly rated, public school located in Dayton, ME. It has 118 students in grades PK, K-5 with a student-teacher ratio of 10 to 1.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide direct academic and social emotional support to students in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.
  • Reinforce instructional concepts and learning objectives in literacy, mathematics, and other content areas.
  • Assist students in completing assignments, organizing materials, and developing effective study and learning strategies.
  • Adapt instructional materials and activities to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Collaborate and communicate with staff on the monitoring and documenting of student progress, academic performance, and behavioral growth.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage confidence, resilience, and self-advocacy skills.
  • Provide social and emotional support by helping students develop self-regulation, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Assist students in managing emotions, navigating peer relationships, and responding appropriately to social situations.
  • Support positive behavior interventions and reinforce classroom expectations and school-wide behavioral goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, special educators, administrators, and families to support students' academic and social/emotional development.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, field trips, and other school-related functions as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with school policies and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and team meetings to enhance student support practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the educational, behavioral, and emotional needs of students.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned by the Building Leader or designee.
Certification/License

Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
