Art Studio Coordinator

The Art Studio Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of UNE’s current and new art studio spaces, as well as the new Object Learning Lab. They ensure that the studios are safe, well-maintained, and effectively utilized for instructional and purposes. Key responsibilities include maintaining, organizing, and troubleshooting various arts equipment. This role supports faculty and students by managing studio operations, collaborating with faculty on supply needs and orders, maintaining equipment, and fostering a collaborative, creative environment.

This is a half-time position with flexibility in scheduling. The specific days and hours will be determined based on the needs of the position and the selected candidate, with hours falling Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

• Partner with faculty and staff to support timely curriculum delivery and studio operations.

• Manage studio access, scheduling, and operations to maximize utilization and minimize disruptions.
• Maintain and repair studio equipment, tools, and facilities, collaborating with UNE Facilities and vendors, as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and proper handling of materials.

• Manage inventory of art supplies and equipment.
• Order and track materials needed for courses and student projects.
• Manage vendor relationships and supply budgets to support efficient studio operations.

• Prepare studio spaces, materials, and equipment in advance of scheduled classes and activities.
• Provide technical assistance and equipment training to students and faculty.
• Offer periodic workshops to ensure broad access to the arts facilities.

• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and the UNE Health and Safety Officer to maintain safe studio environments.
• Stay informed about industry standards and regulations pertaining to studio operations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards or concerns proactively.
• Coordinate with faculty and others to schedule studio cleaning and upkeep.
• Understand and comply with the procedures of UNE’s comprehensive OSHA compliance program and the University of New England Safety Manual
• Understand and comply with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act ( RCRA ) Standards.
