Job Overview
Are you an experienced electrician who thrives on solving technical challenges and working with renewable power systems? If you're energized by field work, diagnosing complex equipment issues, and supporting the growth of clean energy, we invite you to join our team as a Level 2 and or a Level 3 Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician
. They are looking for someone who can oversee their Maine Portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities Safety Leadership- Maintain strict adherence to all safety requirements, protocols, and work practices.
- Confirm that proper PPE is available, inspected, and used correctly.
- Develop and submit lockout/tagout (LOTO) and switching plans for review.
- Lead pre‑task briefings, job hazard analyses, personal LOTO procedures, and switching operations.
- Conduct thorough, high‑level assessments of solar power facilities and associated equipment.
- Build and execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure long‑term system reliability.
- Coach and guide junior technicians on inspection standards and best practices.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve issues involving electrical components, communications networks, and grid‑connected systems.
- Utilize specialized testing instruments and diagnostic software to pinpoint performance irregularities.
- Create and carry out remediation plans for complex technical problems.
- Produce detailed records of all maintenance, inspections, repairs, and corrective actions.
- Prepare technical summaries, reporting materials, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging solar technologies and industry developments.
- Mentor developing technicians and contribute to departmental training content.
- Provide oversight on work order documentation and ensure accuracy across the team.
- Must be flexible to travel with short notice and work outside normal business hours when required.
- Travel may reach approximately 50% at certain times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline preferred.
- 2-4 years of technical experience in solar energy or a related electrical field.
- OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E certifications required.
- FAA Part 107 certification and strong proficiency operating drones for thermographic analysis.
- Solid understanding of PV systems, electrical infrastructure, and grid‑connected equipment.
- Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools such as I/V curve tracers, megohmmeters, and insulation testers.
- Ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and engineering documentation.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and leadership capabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support teamwork and field leadership.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
